![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, I rewired the sucker yesterday, although left the tone pot, as it bizarrely looks like it's always been wired that way... Still... Initial observations: - The DActivator Neck is cool, it really to me kind of sounds like a thick bridge pickup, with clarity in the highs and good round lows, fun to play, and I may just be keeping it in there as I do actually really like it - The x2n7 is really quite insane !, it has more than enough gain on it with the volume knob rolled halfway down... It's a fun pickup, possibly not exactly what I'm looking for in this guitar, but I am still liking it. I may have to revisit some of my settings and tailor them to the hotter pickups though! It's absolutely wicked for soloing, just screams and it's easy to hit pinch harmonics all over the place, this thing just seers, plus, just like I find on my lacs which has an x2n chords just sustain for ages bizarrely enough, they just last...I have an AN7 lying around as well to try out and have (sneakily) wired it so that swapping pups isn't too much of a chore as I won't have to constantly rewire the switch! Plus now I may go off and try a few other pickups. It's like having a new guitar now bizarrely! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's disgustingly simple. Wire up the switch, then wire some lead out from the switch for each of the 4 conductor wires, leave a fair bit of slack, then simple every time you put in a new pickup, desolder the wire from the pickup wire, and solder the new one one. Connect with electrical tape, and that way you always know which wires go where and you never have to touch the switch. Still involves soldering, but at least the wire takes the brunt instead of the switch slowly starting to look like a graveyard solder dump... Nothing too revolutionary! Currently I have: One earth wire, one coil tap wire, one hot wire from each pickup, so it allows me to do most wirings like that, which is all cool ![]() |

What I'd really love is for a quick connect system ala EMG but for 4 conductor wiring, as that'd rock, it really really would!

I know. Oh, how I know. I've wished for the same thing many times, when I'm cursing and my finger is a burned twig. ![]()
