DA7 Vs. X2N7

Hey, So I'm looking for a new bridge pickup to replace the SD Invader-7 that came in my RG7621 WH and I've narrowed it down to two pickups:

DiMarzio D Activator 7 Bridge Vs. DiMarzio X2N7 (info on the pickups themselves can be found at DiMarzio.com)

I really want a good high output pickup that is very clear but with loads of grind. I love grindy sounding pickups and the less vintage sounding the better. I like kind of bassy tones more than trebbly ones.

However, I pretty much play a LOT of clean stuff too. The clean sound I'm looking for can be found at MySpace.com - Asesino - LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - Death Metal / Grindcore / Metal - www.myspace.com/asesino. It's the intro to the first song and it's called Y Tu Mama Tambien. The clean is JUST as important as the distortion.

My favourite distorted tones are from Linchpin by Fear Factory, Dan Donegan's from Disturbed and Independent (Voice Of The Voiceless) on the Roadrunner United CD.

The guitar is made of Basswood and has a fixed bridge. I use a set of 9's tuned to A-standard. My rig is my PODxt Live with Metal Shop upgrade.

NOTE: I'm NOT interested in Seymour Duncan's, or actives like EMG's or Blackouts but feel free to make any suggestions.

Thanks for your time and I appreciate any opinions in general on the two pickups.

EDIT: Or should I just wait and see if they bring out the DAX7? Oh and post WHY you like the pickup you've voted for!

Clip up in the other thread if you want to hear..

If youre into clean sounds, you'll have to roll the volume back and pick lightly as not to break up with the X2N7..

Id wait to see about that DAX7. My main complaint was the X2N7 being out of control.. So if they can tame all that output somehow, they'd most likely have a winner.

Would there be any point in me sending them an email asking if they're making a 7 string model?

DA7 Vs. X2N7
