The box contains two pickups what else? A cap value? A battery connector?

Yeah, active pickups need 25K pots. You have to change everything. Take it to a tech if you don't find comfident to do it by yourself

What this guy said. Although, if you're wiring up the guitar already, what's a few extra solder joints to make? They give you the diagram and everything, so if you follow that you should be fine.

Does it come with the caps? The site says "old caps can be reused," and I've seen no mention of them in anything so far?

Yes, it comes with the caps. 2 to be exact. Comes with 4 pots so you can do a 2 vol 2 tone setup.
