![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Noob-like generalization? So i've noticed something. most of the guys who buy dimarzio's put them in ibby's. the SD guys put them in everything else. would it be fair to say that dimarzio pickups are aimed at superstrat basswood guitars as far as buckers go? 3 cheers for free gear! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Seymour Duncan pickups require modification of the pickup and of the pickup route to install, while Dimarzios are almost always a drop in replacement. ![]() Blackouts will be in soon ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Dimarzios for a long time have really been sorta associated with ibanez (and occasionally prs, through Santana and Di Meola, as well as gibson and fender) Duncans have been getting slapped into charvels and jacksons and other american metal/shred guitars for ages. The Japanese companies also, tend to go for dimarzio, while shreddier american companies favor duncan. as was said, not sure on blackouts really, but for most, duncans just dont really sit too well tonally in basswood, while alot of dimarzio pups were designed for artists who ate drank and breathed basswood axes and theres that whole duncans are fucking huge thing Reverse Headstocks or Bust Dude...i just got a spam email that was titled "Funky date rape trick" -Zepp88 I just got another funny email "Her pussy smiled at me" -Zepp88 Don't tell me you haven't heard of Raptor Jesus It's important that you know this information :headnod: It will decide your fate when we are pwned. -JoeOvChaosI was going KAT KAT KAT KAT and you were going KAT... chk... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I havent recieved my JB/59 for my tokai yet so i dunno how big the pickups are.i kinda want to take the pickups out of the tokai to make sure they are stock, but i have no experience and very limited knowledge about pickup swaps. last time i soldered was 6 years ago? and i dont have a multimeter. I'm a duncan kinda guy, cuz im a mahogany kinda guy. debating going whole hog and BKP'ing at least the bridge of the C7..or i should wait till i get a custom guitar hahahahaha |
