The D Activator Neck is huge!
I put it into the neck position of my 2027 yesterday, and it is level with the fretboard and I can't get it any lower, this is a tall pickup! Now I just hope that that won't affect the sound too much as I can't get it lower, so it'll be very close to the strings. I also put in the x2n7, and man, does that pickup just look mean in all black

A DiMarzio being too big?? That's rather insane.
And Ibanez has some REALLY shallow routes apparently... |

yep, it's a good 5mm + bigger than the standard dimarzio, I mean, this thing is stacked. Doesn't help that I need to run the output wire under the pickup as it needs to be reversed, but maybe there is a way round that (running the pickup wire somewhere else other than under the base plate. And yep, some of the routings are shallow as hell... In any case, the 2027 routing is shallower than the 1077 one. Some of this shit is just odd sometimes.
Can't wait to wire it up though! Want to see how this stuff sounds loike as I love the x2n in 6ers! |

i had that problem with my S7. actually it was more with the wire going under the pickup. i had to dremel out room for the wire to sit so the pickup could be as far down as possible

yep, same issue here, the wire under the pickup because of the need to reverse it is the main issue!

This is why there are Dremels. heh.
I hope you can get this worked out, i'm interested as to what the D Activator neck pup sounds like.
You shake your ass but you're already dead.

Whoa. First thought this was about the D Activator being a kickass pup, but seems that the "hugeness" deemed was in a literal meaning.
But does it affect the sound? |
