Headstock repairs?

Alright so I got my COW 7 back from UPS.
Its fucked up. They chipped the end off the headstock. It is cracked between the 3rd and 4th tuners and the crack is clean through the stock for a good 2.5" then it goes to just the backside. The crack runs just past the nut, straight down the center of the neck.
Can it be fixed?

You posted this before when you first got it, didn't you?

Allen (Dendroaspis) seemed to think it could be fixed, and I'm inclined to agree.

sephereus posted it, the guy who received it in NY. So those pics are the ones. I got it back because of UPS's weird claims process. It'd be nice if I could fix it. This was a great playing neck.

should be fixable dude. Titebond or CA glue and some good clamping ought to take care of it

Reverse Headstocks or Bust

COWs are bolt-on, right? That makes everything much easier.... There's a book no guitar player should be without - Dan Erlewine's "Guitar Player Repair Guide". $25 or so, and it will save you thousands of dollars over the years. Electronics, cracks, fretwork, the whole package.

I hope you have the strings off? The next step would be to get the neck off the instrument and the tuners off. Then, the single most important part to fixing it will be to devise a foolproof, repeatable arrangement of clamps to clamp the fuck out of it, quickly and accurately and strongly and immovably. C-clamps, towels, blocks of wood and stuff. I would personally be more inclined to use a slow-setting, two-part epoxy glue, rather than a quicker CA superglue, cause in my opinion the more glue that soaks into the wood while it's setting the better. Some good repair people use the superglues for everything these days, and if you have your clamping figured up right the thick stuff does give you several minutes to work with.

If you're not comfortable doing this DON'T do it -but it's not a complete disaster, and you'll only have to send the neck out for a fix instead of the whole guitar. Reading it again, it's also going to be important to get the glue throughout the whole length and width of the crack, without gluing the trussrod immobile ; but if you think hard, check some instructions and take your time getting set up, it's completely do-able.

Don't worry, it can be repaired, doesn't look too bad, I've seen worse

That's nothing. Any good repairperson will knock that one out without breaking a sweat, and the headstock will be stronger than before because of it.
