i use a wolf rose bullet preamp, specially designed for low b and built right into the guitar. it tightens things up just a bit and gives me a little boost when i need more gain.

i've tried dimarzios, duncans, emg's, fenders, etc., and i don't see why so many people rave about duncans. just my personal opinion, but i think emg's are a little better, and dimarzios are just as good as duncans...and i hate gibson pickups.

i hope that helps, although i'm not exactly sure what you were asking in the first place.

I personally use a Blaze Custom(b) and PAF7(n) in both of my 7321's but am planning on upgrading at least one of them to an EMG 81-7(b) and 707(n) setup, I may end up doing that to both of them I haven't decided for sure. One thing to know about EMG's is that you MUST play clean. Those bastards pick up EVERYTHING. Both of these combinations rock hard for anything heavy, but you should try to play whatever pickups you can before making your decision or listen to some of the clips in the jukebox here and checkout what they guitarist is using. Sorry for the long post

First, please don't bump threads with the exact same content as the first post. Secondly, please stop with the bold text stuff. Third, PAF/Air Norton works well for me, though I don't play nu-metal.

Yes *groan*. I second our beloved admin, but with much love to you, Monsieur Newbie Dtuned.

Now, I don't think Nitelight dislikes his Blaze Custom per se (although, I am ass-uming, here). I think it's more that he, like me, just really prefers actives (for many reasons). But I'm guessing he probably likes his BC just fine, like I like mine, for a passive pickup that is.

As well, like Christy up there, I also do not play nu-metal, although I've been known to jam a polka a time or three. Even more than a pickup recommendation, I would recommend you put the guitar down slowly, when the urge to play nu-metal overcomes you! (J/K... sorta. I like a few nu-metal bands, most notably Korn, whom I adore. But I digress! )

I guess the bottom line is that if I put dimarzio's or seymour's it's gonna be an upgrade from the stock pups.
