SD Blackours or Dave Mustaine Livewires?
I am deciding between those two pickups, as I want to go back to actives, I currently have a custom black RG560 with a chrome mirror pickguard, which pickup would complement the guitar? as well as sound better?
I play industrial metal (and black/death metal) Also, the RG560 is routed for a barrel input jack, do they have those for active pickup input jacks? |

in general, i prefer the DW livewires, but id bet the blackouts would be better for what you want to play. and the livewires, just like most SD's (fortunately, not blackouts) sound pretty meh in basswood

RG5xx+ used to come stock with a stereo jack, shouldn't need to replace it.
I didn't care for the DM pickups when I tried them, the older Metal Livewires were better to me. Haven't tried the Blackouts, so no opinion on them, but people seem to like them here. |

Judging by the clips on the SD website I'd have to say I really like the Metal and Classic Livewire, much less so the Dave Mustaine and hate the Blackouts.
But then again, so many people here love the Blackouts so i'm guessing SD just didn't dial in a tone to compliment the Blackouts. ![]() |

Clips on Duncan's site are completely worthless. Are as any clips for anything anywhere. The only way to get an accurate assessment is to try 'em out. I'd definitely go with the Blackouts. The Livewires are cool but something about them just didn't work for me.

I have Dave Mustaine's in my basswood RG and I love the way they sound. However, I don't know if they have enough output for Death Metal. I cant speak to the blackouts. The livewire Classic/Heavy Metal are great for that. I can't say how they sound in basswood but if you ask on the SD forum someone there will know.
