Thats the exact same pickup combo I've had in my DeArmond for a while now. I'm pretty much sold on the X2N-7, but I'm not sure about the DA7N. It's a little too smooth in the neck with distortion, but it's very nice with clean amp settings.

I know, but I just fell out with them. They sound great, but the BKP's do what they do better really. It's just that the JB7 has something in it I don't like, and the 59-7 has just never had enough output to it plus is a bit too rock for my liking.

I know. I am picky, a case of not knowing what the sound is I want untill i get there... THis guitar has been through too many pickups now

Strangely, i had an evo7 in it when i bought it back in 2002, but I always found it sounded too clear, but it was cool. I swapped it for a TZ7 before I knew how bad it was...Then it's had a blaze custom in it, which was cool actually but a bit too dark, then the JB7 that's in it now. THe neck has fared better, it was a PAF7, and then the 59-7. Now it goes to x2n7 for the br00talz and to try out the DA neck.

If this fails, then it's BKP time.

I did swap the magnets, though. Alnico 8 for the bridge, alnico 5 for the neck. Magically delicious!

Never tried those pickups, i was put off by the 6 string drop sonic that i just didn't rate much...
