46 to 68 is just a huuuge jump that doesn't make sense for most people out there. If you were using a Drop A type setup it would make sense, but for standard B, standard A, etc... not so much.

In the future I'd just get a 10-46 + a 60 or 65 NanoWeb bass string, or just put together my aforementioned 10-14-18-26-36-49-65/68.

I got pretty much the same set in 10-13-17-26-36-49-68.

i somehow anticipated that. Not trying to give you a hard time or anything, i just thought id mention the cost of the bass string since drew was commenting on price lol. I dunno man, just as far as individuals, the eb's are cheap as hell, and while they die fast, they sound alot better dead than other brands do dead. and im not to worried about getting the perfect new string sound unless im gigging, in which case i just throw on another set really quick. I dunno, just a preference thing i guess . Dont get me wrong, im with you, i use balanced sets, but to me it just doesnt seem like as big of a deal as it does to you guys. i mean, at like a buck and change extra per set, yeah, why not, i'll go for it, but i dont care enough to pay much more than that . Its just different priorities i suppose.

Fawk - just got an email from the company I ordered the strings from and the .068 Elixir Nanoweb is on back order - BUT they shipped the other 6 strings

yeah, whenever there is an option for anything i order where components require eachother, like guitar strings or such, i choose to have my order shipped all at once, even if it takes long to get everything.

That happens quite a bit, Mesh.

But no fears. It usually only takes them a few days to ship out the missing .068.

I can't do Elixers. I had them stock on my Carvin 727 for about 3-4 days. After two days, the coating was starting to come off.
