SH-15 Alnico 8 powered Duncan humbucker

I require this in a seven string version.

Here's Frank Falbo's take on it as posted on the Duncan forum.

Someone mentioned "tightbucker" and yes it's extremely tight and hot.

It's a lot bigger than the JB, because there are more turns, but it's also a special type of wire for a bigger, bolder sound. The A8 puts in a razor sharp attack, and this wind beefs it out. If you pick hard, or have a warm guitar, there is a lot of low end, but it's still sharp and aggressive on the top end.

So Mr Falbo sir could you find it in your heart to make these and the P-Rails as production seven string pickups?

Hey! One of the Alnico 8 SH-15's in the bridge, and one of those P-90 Railbuckers in the neck!

Sounds like an ideal set. Seymour Duncan... hooray innovation!

BTW - Alnico 8 works so well in the bridge. Best magnet choice for our type of music, IMO.

Add Eric's 14 way switching system and it would rock.

i'm really loving the A8 magnets in both the DiMarzio 7s i've tried it in. one of those is ~19 kohms, kind of like this new Duncan, although it's not wound from special super-cool frank falbo heavier wire. A8 rules!

It's not "frank falbo wire" but it is "special and super-cool"

Actually Seymour specified this pickup start-to-finish. He knew what wire he wanted to use, how to wind it, and what it would produce. Days later I had the prototype and it's exactly what will go to production, and it's exactly what he said it would be. This place is full of people like that, from Engineering to the Custom Shop everyone seems to "get it". They've been doing this so long, they can all visualize what a pickup will do before wire even hits the bobbin.

Any plans for a 7 string version?
When will the 6 string version be available?
