depends on the switch.
what brand is it? do you have a multimeter? you can always just check for continuity that way

if you don't have a multimeter to check the contacts yourself, dig up teh wiring diagram for the Gio on Ibanez Guitars, Hollow Bodies, Basses, Acoustics, Amps & Electronics... and reverse-engineer it from that.
