Looks like someone's trying to come up with something new to recoop some of that Blackout loss. Buy EMG EMG-707TW Active Coil Tap 7-String Humbucker at Musician's Friend ![]() Coiltap 707's. Pretty cool. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It may sound alright, but the 707 already has a very single-coil like attack to it, and everyone says the EMG 60-7 is better for cleans and neck-leads anyways. But who knows. Also being an EMG, it will be noisy and $120 is a lot. I know Duncan is coming out with a bunch of new active models including single coils, that should be cool. |

![]() Noise issues aside, the RG8 sounded absolutely fucking amazing through my VHT. I'm fully convinced it's the neck. Palm mutes sounded like sledgehammers and single notes on the F# and B strong had such a brutal roar to it. Love it. The UV sounded thin in comparison. I miss that guitar. I'd like to hear what the Blackout 8 would sound like thru it, but I'm all for the EMG808 if you're lucky enough to avoid the feeedback at extreme volumes (which I'm sure you do). | |
