Another Blackout Question...:D

Seymour Duncan Blackouts.

The bridge and neck have exactly the same resonant peaks according to the spec sheet - in fact the only difference I can see is that the neck model uses an AlNiCo 5 wheras the bridge is Ceramic.

I've not used enough pickups to know what I like compared to others but I DO know that I LOVE my 85 in the bridge of my Stealth compared to the 81 - and those have the same AlNiCo 5 vs. Ceramic argument.

I'm ordering these for the S7, so can anyone shed any light on what would be best? I'm thinking of ordering two neck models for the S7 or perhaps bridge and neck but swapping them round so the neck is in the bridge, if you get me.

Frank?

I got those here. Press Releases - New AHB-1 Blackouts Active Humbuckers - Seymour Duncan/Basslines

It looks to me like they be a wee bit different. The bridge model has more power on average and is a wee bit darker.

Let me know how this works out. I prefer the 85 in the bridge and the 81 in the neck. I was really after the 707's for my 7 banger, but might do the blackouts since its easier.

Who knows? If I ever had any money I'd probably buy one just for the picstory. And the ensuing replies.

UPDATE - Aria UK have them in stock, so I'm off to buy a matched set right now!
