![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So was there ever a consensu on which Duncan works best in a 7620? since mine came today (my first ever Ibby) and I hate these stock pickups.I've seen multiple discussions on this but I've yet to see the "concluded answer". I don't like Dimarzios so I'm thinking maybe a Duncan set, but I've also never owned a Basswood guitar before either so tonally I don't quite know what matches up best with these darn fangered japaneeze fellers Dave (noodles) or Mike you guys ever play basswood bodied 7's? (since I know you guys are Duncan guys, you may have a clue. I'm thinking Jazz for the neck , but I'm lost as to what to put in the bridge of this thing.) Can I be the devil on your shoulder? ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i'm more of a Dimarzio guy, but my best guess for basswood would be either the Custom or Distortion and a Jazz neck? the price may concern you, but the guitar heads 7 string hexbuckers actually sound really good in basswood ... Welcome to GuitarHeads.net i've also been curious about these too, as i've heard good things... Stan Hinesley Hand Crafted Hand Wound Pickups for Guitar and Bass just some other options for you then again, i've never tried any 7 string BKs, and i like Dimarzio D Activators... so my opinion really means nothing on this site ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Whatever you do, Evo 7 in the bridge for sure. Don't be afraid to mix pickup companies, I have a Duncan in the bridge of my Strat and DiMarzio's elsewhere, though in hindsight that was a mistake because I hate that pickup. I've never played an AN7, but I have a Blaze in the neck of my 7620 and I'm kind of meh on it. ![]() |
