727 wiring w/ dimarzio (again)

Aight. So my 727 has been sitting on the sidelines for two weeks, because something is effed in the wiring and i cannot figure out what it is. Dimarzio's instructions are helpful, but not totally clear, as the bridge pup goes from the coil tap to the phase switch, with only one connection. The neck pickup (put the stock back in) is functioning fine, but the bridge pickup is not.

i was hoping either to see a picture or a diagram of how somebody has their 727 wired w/ splitter and phase. Maybe if i understand how the phase switch actually works, i'll be able to figure it out myself. I dunno. I am obviously not smart enough for this stuff.

:sigh: regardless, i am grateful to have this place to turn to when i'm in desperate need of help.

if it's not a signal path issue then i'm replacing the mini toggles for the bridge split and phase switch, as i was thinking that maybe i'd damaged them (though everybody told me that was REALLY unlikely)

phase switches just switch the phase of one coil. For example, take it would switch the white and black wires out on a pickup. really simple switch really. i'll try to throw something together, although im not sure how the whole thing is wired together.
Give me the whole switching config on the guitar and i can try to shoot one out. somebody here might have one though. email carvin maybe?

it's H-H with a 3-way toggle. Each pickup is connected to a coil tap. From there, the neck pup goes straight to the toggle. The bridge goes to the phase, then to the toggle.
I understand what a phase switch does, but i guess what i didn't understand is how the switch accomplishes that.

I think the key element that i'm missing is that i don't actually know what each of the 4 leads coming out of the pickup are. I'm trying to figure it out but i dunno. I'm assuming there's one lead for each individual coil and then one series hot and one parallel? I dunno... *cries*

i'll probably e-mail if i can't get anywhere, but i guess i feel like fighting through it and asking people here is more of a learning experience.

do it this way if youre not afraid of a soldering iron. thats how you learn.
ok. about the phase switch. does it switch the 2 bridge coils in and out of phase with one another? or does it switch the bridge pickup and neck pikcup in/out of phase?

it switches the bridge pickup 180 degrees, so that it is out of phase with the neck pickup.

i THOUGHT i had it and then i was just like "wtf." I know that the way the dimarzio diagrams show it is not how it was originally wired and i'm kinda hesitant to redo more wires than i have to. I e-mailed Carvin, so i'm hoping they get back to me in the next few days... But if you figure this out. I'll um. Let you play it if you're ever in Brooklyn
