![]() | Opening H&K Warp Factor pedal Might seem like a basic issue, opening a pedal.. Being rack based, I need to program the Warp Factor on/off using an external MIDI switcher. Really a piece of cake. Warrenty void, I know.. I removed screws and jack nuts, but it seems the buttom plate is glued in place. Don't wan't to apply brute force, so if anyone has opened it, how? Mailed H&K and got: "In order to open the Warp Factor, you will have to remove screws, jack nuts and side plates and then slide the buttom plate to the side." Ehm.. it's a one-piece pedal, no sides to remove. Reposted, but no further reply.. Rgds, van Sinn |

![]() ![]() | they said slide the bottom to the side, so take the bottom plate and tr sliding it to the left or right. I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ Don't thank me, thank the wombat rapist. - Jamie Mah Deviantart Myspace The Many Faces of Egoraptor |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've opened mine many times to retighten the footswitch's spring, piece of cake Just remove jack bolt, pot knobs, then it should be easy to disassemble. The pots pegs are catching with the side of their holes but are flexible enough to be bent a little when you remove the electronic plate.I warn you it seems to be a somewhat complex unit, adding midi control to it might be a pain ![]() Bloody Murder #5 |

![]() | Are we talking about the same padal: http://hughes-and-kettner.com/produc...ode=prod&id=42 On mine, the buttom plate is resessed and seemingly glued or maybe fitted with a sticky gasket. It's a tight fit, so only a very thin tool can be inserted between sides and buttom plate, so the tool just bends when trying to flip it loose. Like I wrote, no removable sides and no sliding possible. Damn, as if I've never opened electronics before; feels kinda stupid ![]() WRT MIDI, I'll just add a rear mounted minijack to interface with the front toggle, to switch it on/off using an external MIDI switcher (Scholz Octopus). |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You certainly missed a screw somewhere, I'll disassamble mine and report back ![]() Edit : OK, so I disassembled the thing again. 1 - remove the 4 screws on the bottom 2 - remove the 2 screw on the electronic board 3 - remove the 2 bolt on the jack 4 - remove the 3 plastic knob 5 - push gently on the pot shafts 'till the board fall of the casing It works for me that way ![]() As for the switch, don't expect it to be a mecanical switch, it's a switch pad with a fake mecanical switch on top (with a spring that push the pad) |

![]() | Thanks alot for taking the time and efforts. I did all but 2), and actually don't see those two screws anywhere on the rounded top, on the back (with connectors) or on the buttom. Are those located under the foam on the buttom plate? I don't feel anything under the foam, and don't whan't to rip it off.. Geez, so much for having an electronics degree - was back in '84, though..FWIW, my unit is S/N 10056849, if it has any meaning to Prod.Date; maybe they changed something WRT assembly.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't understand, you removed the 4 screw on the bottom and the back plate didn't came off? If that's your problem, put the pedal verticaly, jack up, with the back plate at a light angle toward the ground. Then tap it lightly on the ground (preferably on a carpet) and it'll came off. If not remove the bolt on the jack and try again. There is nothing under that foam man ![]() |

![]() | Thanks for the advice. Had to tap it many times and use a small screwdriver in the only corner with a small clearance to make the button snip off; very tight fit! almost waterproof ![]() |
