Broken nut

My balls are fine

, whats not fine is the nut on my epiphone. [Rantage] I spent all day cleaning my guitar I took everything off knobs, bridge, strings, truss rod cover, and pickguard to clean this thing. I cleaned the fretboard and lemon oiled it. after evything was clean I put it all back together and started putting the strings on. I put the strings on and tightened them. I streched out all the strings, but the low string. I had one last stretch and retune to do and BAM!!

My fuggin nut broke from the last grove on the bass-side to the end!!

I cant reuse it so I have to buy another one. So I'm thinking of a trem-nut because its self lubricating. Sorry for the rant. Did that ever happen to any of you?

I've had something like that happen with a bone nut, but it was on the treble side.

Sucks.

Trem nuts are great, replaced the weird spongy nut on my Samick with it and it made quite a difference, and it stays in tune like nothing else.

Where can you find brass nuts. I actually would prefer that or a nickel nut. but the only one I know of are the blanks from warmoth

Maybe you could have a machine shop cut it for you?
