Real Name: Corbin Main Seven: Ibanez RG 1527 Rig: Peavy JSX half-stack Thanked: 2
![]() | Good pickups for RG1527 I got a stock RG1527. I'm pretty decided to get an air norton 7 in the neck position, but i don't know what i need in the Bridge. Any suggestions? I perfer both clean and distorted tones. I'd like some balls to the wall distorted sounds, but I don't won't to compromise my cleans, thats my favorite. In terms of Leads, I'm not that much concerned, although i don't won't them unconsidered. I want a tight 7th string sound, really good cleans, and good distortion. BTW i haven't been playing electric too long, so if y'all could recomend a good half-stack thats good on price that'll help, but I'll probably put up a new thread somewhere. ...cool |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Evo 7. You'll have to consult with someone else about bridge cleans, because I almost never use my bridge with cleans, and I'm currently without a 7. However, I definitely think the Evo 7 is the best bridge pickup you can get on a 7 for under $150. As far as a halfstack, Orange and Vader make great speaker cabinets. I'd recommend a 2x12 over a 4x12 simply because those things are fucking huge. As far as the amplifier head goes, it depends what you mean by cheap. No matter your budget though, I'd say that used (be it through classifieds or eBay) is the way to go. Also, don't totally rule out combos. There are some great combo tube amps out there, like the Mesa/Boogie Mark IV combos. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | the Evo 7 is kinda scooped, but not a lot, so it's very tight. the Blaze Custom has more midrange character, so i'd say it's warmer. if you want a good metal pickup, you should check the Evo 7 out ![]() I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways, we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | evo 7 is pretty solid for cleans, from my minimal experience with it. but its worth noting the evo2 (6 stringer) is just like an evo 7 in character, and if dialed in properly is AMAZING clean, just like the original evolution. ![]() | i just installed my Blaze bridge today in my 1527 and ive got to say its has the best tone out of any of my guitars or my friends'. its got high output but even when you crank the distortion it retains total clarity. the cleans sound really clear but a little bit trebbly if the tone knob is cranked. I recommend it highly. it would be really cool to see an EMG with that air norton though, if you're an active pickup kind of guy. as for a half stack, id say save up and go big. it's truly worth it. |

At home I got 2 rg7620's 1 with emg 707's and 1 with an Evo 7 in the bridge and it fucking slays. It's tight like hell, articulate and because of the midrange it cuts like a hot knife through butter. Great tone for tight rytm playing as well as for leads. Clean sound is also pretty ok with this pickup, it's no single coil sound but it's capable of doing quite nice clean sounds, it will stay clean. It's my personal favorite dimarzio for 7 strings. Kop-ik-win, munt-jij-verliest. | |

![]() | I like my mids, so I'll probably get that evo-7. I don't think i can go wrong with that. No i'm not an active pickup guy, and i think EMG's sound like plastic, not that there bad pickups |
