Hey yall, I currently have my Charvel 6 string tuned in 5ths, thus making my lowest string a low G and occasionally ill tune the whole axe down a half step giving me an F#.

It currently has two humbuckers, an EMG-HZ in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan in the neck. But I was wondering what are some good pickups that would handle the extreme low range of the tuning, yet at the same time picks up the high end (since my highest string is a half step above a normal 6 string)

I was thinking some active EMG's wouldnt be bad.

Thoughts?

Np. When you go into each section check the top "Blue" threads there called stickies.

Also don't discount the 85 in the bridge too

I've heard that the Duncan Blackouts are very nice if you want to go active.

hell yes. an 85 (i like the 89 splittable) in the bridge and a 60 in the neck is my fave, just in front of the 81/60. for emgs anyways, which arent my fave, but do rock for drop tuning

i didnt like them in 6 string. i hope theyll do better in a 7

Especially the lil' extra OOMPH the 85 has.
