Tonzone 7 or D activator 7?

Which one would be better for a lead sound, I like the clear lows and warm highs, and very good harmonics because i use the floyd rose frequently so yeah which one would be better?

umm, the TZ7 is pretty crummy on all accounts.
so out of those two, id say the dactivator

Isn't the Tonezone 7 the worst 7 string pu DiMarzio makes? I'd get the D Activator. If it were for a six string, I'd say go for the Tone Zone.

neither, imo.

clear lows and warm highs sounds like the air norton 7 to me.

I'm typing this on my knees with my butt in the air. -Drew

You might want an Evolution 7 in the bridge. That pickup pretty much owns for lead playing. It's very clear, it doesn't have the warm highs though. I mean, that's what neck pickups are for, right?

Neither are good. Try the Evo. The Blaze Neck in the bridge is really great for leads, but not so much on the low B string. Give and take. A Duncan JB or Custom might be a better alternative depending what guitar you have.

The Air Norton 7 in the bridge sounds terrible IMO.

i didn't know he was asking for a bridge pickup.
otherwise, i wouldn't have recommended the AN7.

The TZ7 is only good as a jazz bridge pickup, IMO. That said, I would disagree with Nick and say the D Activator 7 is good... but it is a different animal. In it's own unique way, it's one of the best bridge pickups I've ever played, but it's very flat, unforgiving, and compressed.

But it's super clear, super tight, and very 'present' - in your face.
