![]() | Tonzone 7 or D activator 7? Which one would be better for a lead sound, I like the clear lows and warm highs, and very good harmonics because i use the floyd rose frequently so yeah which one would be better? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Isn't the Tonezone 7 the worst 7 string pu DiMarzio makes? I'd get the D Activator. If it were for a six string, I'd say go for the Tone Zone. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You might want an Evolution 7 in the bridge. That pickup pretty much owns for lead playing. It's very clear, it doesn't have the warm highs though. I mean, that's what neck pickups are for, right? |

The Blaze Neck in the bridge is really great for leads, but not so much on the low B string. Give and take. A Duncan JB or Custom might be a better alternative depending what guitar you have. The Air Norton 7 in the bridge sounds terrible IMO. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The TZ7 is only good as a jazz bridge pickup, IMO. That said, I would disagree with Nick and say the D Activator 7 is good... but it is a different animal. In it's own unique way, it's one of the best bridge pickups I've ever played, but it's very flat, unforgiving, and compressed. But it's super clear, super tight, and very 'present' - in your face. http://www.wolf.org |
