You´ve said it´s the guitar not the amp right? You played your SC-607 through the same amp, same settings and all and don´t experience that problem.
Do you have the possibility to check your guitar on another amp? With all the recommendations you´ve got the last thing I could think of would be a faulty set of strings. Maybe try some new ones? |

i dunno if its the same problem but with a couple of my guitars on the high E, once i get above the 15th fret or so there seems to be this really weird vibrato sound when i let the notes ring out, and its gets worse as i go up the frets.
so i made sure everything was in tune, then i used my tuner and check what happened when i played those notes and it turned out starting at whatever fret and up they were too sharp and getting sharper as they went up. to fix this i loosened just the one saddle and made some adjustments till it went away. hope this helps |

hmm yeah, when i was tuned to C# it kinda only did it with the G string down, and the lower frets i went to the more it did it. But now i tuned back to E standard, it does it everywhere on that string and down. But holy fuck, how hard must you turn it to loosen the saddle? I dont wanna break the shit haha Quote:

hrm. so somethings up with the guitars.
its either buzz or wiring. i really do suspect wiring. that sounds like a feedbacked short to ground imo. hrmm.

So i just put new strings on, alot heavier. Still the same shit. The guys at GC would probably charge me a fortune just to look at it : / I kinda wanted a guitar to play leads on and was going to throw some new PU's in it but now im thinking its not even worth it if i cant get rid of this problem. And if it is a wiring problem, i really dont know how to look for it to even tell if it is

Well I´m not the smartest guy around when it comes to electronics, but you could always wire one pickup directly to the output jack. This would give you the most direct signal path without any obstructions. The result may give you an indication and you could go from there.
But I hope someone more knowledgeable may chime in. |

mmhmm.
as far as electronics, fault test it. as triplefan said, start with just ground to pickups to jack, and see if that fixes it. then try pickup to volume to jack. see if those work. then include the tone pot. see if those work. then include the switch, and try each position. it really sounds like something is just shorted somewhere. pop her open and see if you cant find anything really obvious, like a ground solder touching a hot |

hmm did i mention is only happens with the bridge pickup, and only with distortion? It does sound like a wiring problem, ill see what i can do, thanks
so im looking inside and i have to be honest, i have no idea what im looking for. Shit is all mixed up lol. And excuse me for my lack of knowledge in electronics, but fault testing is done how? Last edited by Zoltta; 12-01-2007 at 12:50 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
