Some kind of replacement for a tone knob

I was just fiddling with the tone knob on my Soloist, and as it turns out, it doesn't work

And rather than just replacing it with a bland old tone knob, I want to make it something more useful, although I'm not sure what that is yet.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I don't know if I want a gain boost or another volume or just an enhanced tone knob, so just suggest any kind of potentiometer.

Well, that can be done with pretty much any DPDT pot. Whether it be a tone pot, etc.

theres clearly the afterburner from emg (i like it)
and then i really like the exg, for a tone knob.
if i ever get my hands on an esp or ltc eclipse, its getting a master volume, an ab, and an exg

Replace it with a built in effect of some sort. Could be fun.

i´d say coil tap, EMG afterburner, or killswitch... i have a coil tap for mine :P

also, you could make a dual volume pot setup...

dual volume=killswitch plus you can have a rolloff for the neck for solos, and not have touch anything but the switch.

Something from EMG like Afterburner, PA2, SPC or something - many choices
