Can this LP be restored?

Gibson Les Paul Studio Body & Neck - (eBay item 170167511644 end time Nov-13-07 19:52:42 PST)

I've been missing my old studio so I was wondering if this guitar could be restored?

Oh, most definately. You'd need a luthier or know how to steam that broken neck out of there and put in the new one and probably sand down and refinish her, but I think you could do it.

That neck is cut off before the 16th fret, it's totally useless. It's possibly from a factory reject. The Studio is pretty much fucked too. It would need a new neck made and installed which would be very expensive.

+1 Not worth the expense to SEE if you can get it working again IMO.

Plus, with a break like that there's no guarantee it will sound all that great after "repairing" it.

Yes, it can probably be restored, but not with that neck.

there's a lot of manufacturers reject bodies and necks on ebay

It looks like it's in bad shape... But doesn't look like it it's been destroyed.

If you want to do the work, I say go for it.

Too bad I can't find a 24 fret 24 3/4" scale neck for my LTD...

Only referring to the neck there Dan, a lot of manufactures will cut a guitar into pieces to ensure the parts can't be salvaged by employees and sold as the real deal. That neck has been cut off at the body joint.
