![]() If you are looking for a Petrucci-esque lead tone buy a Mark IV or similar. I know they are expensive as hell in Europe but that's going to put you on the track to THAT type of sound. ![]()

While the cleans on it are not the best, the fact that you essentially have two red channels when cranked mean taht coupled with a judiciously placed boost pedal, it is very easy to cover the lead/rhythm parts of playing if taht is the sort of stuff you are looking to do. A final point - and I'm not having a dig at you - a 6505 head goes for at most £550 ($1100) over here, often less. A Mark IV goes for even more that a Dual Rec, and second hand those go for about £1400 - ($2800) Last edited by Stitch; 11-12-2007 at 03:38 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | you just have to work some knobs, and the 6505 will definately give you that sound, at least with a good pedal. like stitch said, use your neck pickup, thats going to give you that warmth when coupled with lower distortion. too many people live off of the bridge pickup because of its clarity under heavy distortion. and i think the cleans are fine, you just need an eq before it goes in. you can get a good eq pedal for like, 80 usd Reverse Headstocks or Bust Dude...i just got a spam email that was titled "Funky date rape trick" -Zepp88 I just got another funny email "Her pussy smiled at me" -Zepp88 Don't tell me you haven't heard of Raptor Jesus It's important that you know this information :headnod: It will decide your fate when we are pwned. -JoeOvChaosI was going KAT KAT KAT KAT and you were going KAT... chk... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | sikth use the heads and their lead tones are fluid and smooth as fuck. its all about using the neck pickup if your using the bridge you will probably always retain an element of harshness in your sound |
