Close to going for bareknuckles
Yep. Pretty much decided. After Tim said he'd rewind the single coil, a bareknuckle set looks like the way to go for the 1077. And I think Nailbomb/Cold sweat + rewound single (with a magnet swap if he has one that fits) should make for a really good set in it.
Only thing I am debating is the nailbomb, as bridge pickup wise I really do not quite know what I want... If anyone has any ideas, I don't want stupid amounts of gain, but do want a slightly hot pickup. |

The Nailbomb is powerfull but doesn't sound like your generic higain pickup from SD or DM, they're very open and organic and do clean as well. I don't have any BKPs but heard a few IRL and they feel like my JS Moore pickups (handwound from canada) I have in my Ibanez RG3120.
Very clear and they doesn't sound overly higain while they still hit hard the input of the amp or pedals. (I had a Behringer TO800 and the JSM Black Widow (bridge) made the input of the pedal clip like crazy )Bloody Murder #5 |

I told Tim I wanted Versatility and he recommended the Nailbomb to me as well. it's got plenty of mids to it ,
so if you're looking for more of a "metal" bridge pickup I'd go with the "WarPig". the Nailbomb is a great "shred" pickup, it sounds great for playing lead but I can't get a "Petrucci" type of rhythm tone out of mine (may be the guitar) but It sounds good, the ColdSweat is a great neck pickup, i think it's got a voice of it's own,
Can I be the devil on your shoulder?

a)more agressive ,but controlable b)More balls c)More transparency.. And yeah ,chunky enough to get good rythm tone (that's what i wanted from tim). The Warpig is the chug master...But lacks on lead intensity! ![]() |

However, I am intrigued by the miracle man. Which would you say out of the two is the best all rounder? (Miracle Man and Nailbomb), and what would you say the pitfalls of each are? |

Nailbomb is more versatile, never heard one in person but it's supposed to be modeled after an EMG81 for the bridge and an EMG85 for the neck. If you want power, clear tone in the Lundgren ballpark the ceramic Warpig is the solution.

The Miracle Man set is the one closer to an EMG 81/85 set. As it was designed to get Zakk Wylde-like tone.
