 | Thinner, airy sound with less output? After attempting the baseplate swap on my Custom 7, I reinstalled it and noticed the sound is much more thin and airy, and with less output. Did I do something wrong or screw something up? |

| For some reason I think I might have to repot the pickup, although I have no clue what the purpose of that is...I want to get the original tone that this kickass pickup had back.  I don't wanna have to buy another one for a newbie's mistake learning and trying new things... |

| okay so TOTALLY ignore my dumb ass,  i figured out it was a shitty wiring job on my part with some cold solder joints, my bad. But for future reference, what WOULD be the type of situation where I would need to get my pickups repotted?Mods, if you want feel free to delete this thread. |

| no usually potting just fixes microphonics and I don't really thing open humbuckers are potted all that much...usually it's closed ones which are really inundated with wax. |
