Where to put my name on a custom guitar?
so when i´m getting my custom 8 string, where on the guitar should i get my name put on it? i feel it needs to be a part of the guitar that you can´t just easily remove, like a truss rod cover... i want it to be something cheap, but permanent... so if someone stole it, identifying it would be easy as cake...
i was thinking an inlay at the 24th fret or something, a block shaped one, with mmy name written on it, but i can imagine it would cost a shitload... or what? any better ideas? keep it cheap, but not like DIY cheap, and it shouldn´t be something that obstructs the prettyness of the instrument, it should be something small and simple...

Bottom of the neck?
Fretboard seems the best idea, under the 24th fret where there's that little gap. You could have it on the headstock if you really wanted. |

the headstock would be a good place, something like how "Prestige" is written on the Ibanez headstocks. like...

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

I'd put it somewhere not obvious, like inside the trem cavity, a pickup cavity, the neck pocket or the control cavity.

i want it to be visible though... so you could look at it and see it, but i don´t like it to be blaring out :P and about the resell value, i have no plans on selling it, i mean... it IS a custom made instrument! :P i never sell my gear... i trade at best... if i sell gear, then it´s just in order to get more gear :P and this guitar isn´t worth like a buttload of cash anyways, it´s a reasonable custom, so it wouldn´t be the first thing i would sell to get some cash... but maybe i´ll go with the truss rod cover afterall, and if i need to sell it, then i just remove the truss rod cover ![]() but then again, if people steal it, they could just remove that, and suddenly it´s not so obviously identifiable :P headstock it is! :P |

I would second getting inside the cavity, but I still think the headstock is a nice one. If you put it on the back of the headstock you could cover that or sand it or something, on the front, you'd have a huge tuning peg problems.
--e Which guitar are you getting? I think Schecter Customs would do this for you. |

All over the fretboard, and then again in neon-green on the body and then once more in a different color all over the backside.
I vote for headstock. |
