![]() ![]() | Edge Pro 7 problem When I use the trem, the guitar goes out of tune. Not drastically, but if I've got it tuned perfectly and pull up a bit on the trem then all the strings end up being just a tiny little bit sharp (1-2 lights on the TU2). Locking stud mod needed (or similar) or just a bad set-up? Life is a waste of time, time is a waste of life. Get wasted all the time and you'll have the time of your life! ![]() R.I.P. Ask Kevan as he's the trem expert around here, and he can tell us what the PTFE lube tastes like. |

Apparently it penetrates (tee hee) the metal or something and stays around for awhile. Back out the posts 180 degrees, smear some on the posts, then put them back in, and work the trem a bit to spread the lube. I'm pretty sure that's what Dr. Kevan prescribes. He still hasn't told me what it tastes like yet though. |

You've got your head down You've got your eyes closed You look so pitiful now Your body encrusted with ash Breath heavy with toxins Hair singed and matted Clothes frayed and burnt You are left with nothing |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Make sure the spring claw is fairly parellel (spelling?). Unequal tension on the bridge could contribute to "binding" which would cause a floyd drop to be flat on return, and pulls to be sharp on return. And what I have always used is chapstick/equivelent. But I would recommend trying to fix what is wrong instead of remedy it. Maybe it has some uneven wear that needs to be touched up. A couple minutes and a couple utensils and you will be better off than just smearing stuff on the posts. |

Well, it's a good idea to lube the posts anyways to prevent wear. But I'm assuming he's looked at the setup since that would be the most obvious place to look first, if the trem is level, etc. Last edited by JJ Rodriguez; 08-29-2007 at 01:06 PM.
