Sperzels at TK Instruments?!?!
Hey guys. I was just wondering, has anyone knows or has ordered from here before? Just trying to find out if this guy is legit. I'm looking for a set of Sperzels to further mod up my RG7321. He does offer 7 string sets, and some rather sweet looking multi-colored sets. Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Todd Keehn is legit and he's answered every email I sent him. I have not ordered from him, but he was very helpful with information and guidance.

You do know that your going to have to modify your existing tuner holes. I would love to have a pair of those amazing black & white ones that he had on there. I originally wanted a pair of sperzels but then read that schallers retro-fit in perfectly with ibanez stockies or gotohs.

Never ordered from him but I will echo urklut's statement - Todd is a great guy, and goddamn helpful. I'd trust the guy to hold my wallet while I beat an emo kid round the head with an iron bar.

Thanks all for your responses and helpful insights, I appreciate it.
I thought Sperzels would fit an Ibanez, since they have a pole lock. With Schallers, wouldn't I have to drill pilot holes for the external screws, and is there enough room for it on Wizard neck? |

Sperzels use a small pin instead of an external screw that has to be very accurately drilled for, along with the fact that the bore size (the large hole in the headstock) is wrong unless it was set up for Sperzels. If I remember correctly, it's too large on most guitars, but it's been a while since I've done it. On basses, the whole is always too large and always has to be doweled (filled) and redrilled for both the post and the pin.
It's not a straight swap, and is much more involved than with tuners with external post anchor screws. |
