hey zand, I am on week 4 of my DC727. I went with swamp ash body/maple neck, and non-actives. Just went into finishing and polishing today
I don't think I'll be wanting to dremel my first carvin so maybe dimarzio's would be best.

Do lundgren's need any special attention fitting into a carvin?

activators sound like active pickups, but better IMO.
not that the tone is better, but they are more dynamic than regular actives, and they sound a bit less sterile.
also, they don't require a battery.

The magnets on Lundgrens are huge - mine brushed the sides of the stock Ibby bridge pickup route and they would not fit into my Dean at all. I would imagine a carvin would need some dremel work for a Lundgren to fit.
