Switch and pot issue
I pulled the three way switch and volume pot from a spare guitar I had lying around, and found some stuff I personally haven't seen (which isn't saying much since I haven't been around the block and I live on n00b street). The switch, maked kye, is setup with 8 latteral posts, seven on the board and one being tied to the chassis (ground I think), and the volume knob (500k linear) has a cap soldered to posts 1&2 (the shaft being down, the posts facing towards you, one being the furthest left, three being the furthest right) that has a stamp/marking of 2a102k. Also, im installing emg hz4s into the guitar.
Questions being -Does anyone know of a website that would diagram, or knnow of the top of their head, the order of these posts? -What the cap would do (Is it a treble cap, that keeps the volume knob from pulling the treble out as its wound down). -Do I need to ground the hzs any different than a normal passive (I think the actives have a pickup ground and the hzs I have have a bare metal strip just like the actives do) -Who is eric cartmans father (the 1978 denver broncos is my guess) <3 for your time Okay, through the power of poverty and ingenuinity (think ghetto mcguiver), I was able to setup a simple circuit with a 9v and an led, and was able to tap out the posts/circuit layouts and now have the guitar operational. So the questions unanswered are the grounding on the pickup itself, as well as the cap. Last edited by newamerikangospel; 08-13-2007 at 10:59 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
