How hard would a bias mod be?

I'm curious as to how hard it'd be. My Genz Benz El Diablo is one of the original runs, which lacks bias test points and access to the adjustment. The newer generations all have test points and access to the adjustment. I could really go for that right about now, haha.

Hmm, could be difficult if you don't have experience with wiring amps. If you feel confident, email Genz Benz for a wiring diagram and to point out at which points to wire a bias, or how you'd go about doing it, otherwise, I'd just go to a tech.

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties.

I should probably just have my amp completely serviced when I get the tubes. I can do the biasing myself, but I was wondering how hard it'd be to add external test and adjustment points, similar to what the newer Diablo models have.

When I had my amp retubed last time, I didn't know anything about how to do it. I took it to a shop, where one of the employees managed to blow a capacitor. Needless to say, he didn't know what he was doing, either. Luckily, an actual electrical engineer who knew what he was doing showed up and yelled at him doing it the wrong way. He did the rest of the work, including replacing the cap. He had to cheat, though. They didn't have any more caps at the ohm rating that was needed to replace it. So instead of running out and grabbing one for my amp, he took four caps that matched the correct ohmage, twisted them together and soldered them in place. It works fine, but I'm wondering if that's leading to the problem I'm having now..

For reasons unknown to me, my power lights have been dimming on the front of the amp. Normally when that happens, my tone suffers. I don't know what's going on, so it's definitely something that I should have an amp tech overlook.
