EMG 707 question

In my never ending quest to figure out what friggin' pickups to put in my 7 string I have a question.

I know EMG's need to be routed, But I have pickup rings around my current pickups, does this create enough room for an EMG, or should I just wait for the standard size blackouts (if I decide to use actives)

You shake your ass but you're already dead.

You've got your head down
You've got your eyes closed
You look so pitiful now

Your body encrusted with ash
Breath heavy with toxins
Hair singed and matted
Clothes frayed and burnt

You are left with nothing

There is not enough room. EMG's are huge.

The blackouts are not the same as EMG-707's, but they should fit.

What sound are you going for? There is most likely something already out on the market for you.

...but be aware that a) EMG's arent worth the hartache and b) the Blackouts actually just look cooler.

The main thing i'm going for is the Tightest sound possible, while providing sustain and clarity... Especially clarity! I've played a hellraiser before, and I liked the sound (and the look of the EMG). In my band I switch a lot between distortion and clean, so i don't need a completely BALLS OUT pup, but I still need some growl.

So right now i've finally narrowed it down to an Evo or 707(or the standard sized blackout if I have to route).

You can't fit the 707 in your existing pickup routes - surrounds or not.

As bostjan said, the 707 is a HUGE pickup - check the size of your average EMG bass pickup and thats how big it is - they use the same housings

The Seymour Duncan will be better

The D-Activators might be up your alley (from what I've heard, I'm not super familiar with them myself). Or, if you have the cash and feel adventurous, Bareknuckles or Lungrens.
