EMG 707 routing

I'm getting an RG7321 in a few months, I wanna stick 707's in it. Anyone got any details pictures of the routing I'm gonna have to do? My friend has and knows his way around a router so the mod should be easily done.

Cheers
Joe

sepsis311 can only hope to improve
Just lay the pickup over the pickup hole, and trace it. Then route it out. You can also route a small channel in the pickup cavity for the quick connector and cable so you dont have to lower the entire pickup hole.

Also, I forgot his name but he's always being recommended on the seymour duncan forum...anyway, the guy who runs this site makes pickup rings for the active bass-housing EMG pickups (707, 81-7 etc) http://www.fretsonthenet.net/other_parts.htm they're near the bottom.

They don't actually hold the pickup up like 6-string ones do, but they make them look normal and cover up poor routing jobs :p

Cheers guys. Does this mean theres no additional routing required for the battery pack? Or does the "trace the outline and FIRE" routine apply here too?

Cheers!

The battery just goes in the electronics cavity...if it's big enough...it should be on the ibanez. I don't remember how big it is on those, but it's tiny on my flying v.

Yeah the electronic cavity is big enough in the ibanez (mine has an emg 81-7 and an 707) Just use some of the foam that comes wrapped around the pickup and wrap it around the battery to keep it from jiggling around and messing something up in there.

yup, one battery can power both pickups. I'm sure this won't fit into the electronics cavity, but in the future you can try running everything at 18 volts, i've heard amazing things about it from everybody who has tried it...

Running everything at 18 volts, is that with 2 batterys? Or am I misunderstanding?

What difference will that make to a regular 9V battery?

Cheers again guys

basically how many batteries you put in. from what i understand, running 18v gives you more headroom and whatnot.
