Seymour duncan blackouts

hey everyone

i'm a very big fan of EMG pickups and upon hearing of the seymour duncan blackouts i have been interested in knowing more about this other choice for active 7 string pickupery!

does anyone know if the blackout 7 string would be based on the 707 or the 81-7?

Supposedly based on the 707. If you do a search for Seymore Duncan Actives, you'll pull up some more threads on this.

daemon barbeque is just really nicedaemon barbeque is just really nice
well the first clips of the 6 string versions are cool! They are "not" like the emgs ,alltough they where based on them. The 81 and Blackout Bridge are really close ,but the Blackout Neck and the 85 are waay different!.
So if the Blackout 7 is going to sound like their Neck version (like 707 is) ,it will be a really tight ,warm but agressive PU.

Because the copy is better my friend... Everything that's wrong with the EMG is better in the copy!

Up the shut fuck, you must.

Two reasons:

1. Everyone's different, so some people might prefer the Blackout sound to the EMG sound.

2. The Blackout 7's are due to be made in a passive size, so no need to route out your guitar any more. Might not be an issue to you, but if you want to try actives but don't want to hack up an expensive guitar (like me with my Universe), it's a big bonus.

Same thing can be said about passive pickups. However it's always good to have a challenge then it puts the company on the spotlight of what do I do to one up the competition.

It may even make EMG make standard sized 7 string pickups...
