Thinking about swaping out my 550s pups
Any suggestions? This guitar is mainly for my practicing and lead playing, not too much metal or anything heavy.
I was thinking about some DiMarzio's. Maybe a Tone Zone, PAF Pro, Air Norton.. Also, how hard is it to desolder/solder them in? I've never done it before. |

For the neck position, the Air Norton is a pretty warm pickup. I have a PAF pro in the neck of one of my Ibanez's now. It's kind of bright but it's clear. The Steve's special is nice with the Air Norton. You could try an Air zone in the bridge. I read that it's like a vintage version of the Tone Zone.
Soldering and desoldering them isn't too hard. This video may help. |

Is yours a 'normal' or a re-issue?
