Volume and Tone with just one pot?
i posted this circuit in another thread
but i think that could be useful to other people as well so here it is! it's a simple circuit that allow you to tweak a little bit more from your axe if you're stuck in having just one pot ![]() it uses a push pull so that when in pushed state: you have a regular volume pot wothout tone circuit at all, so you have a brighter tone than your standard wiring that put tone pot in parallel with volume pot and when you pull it out: your pickups see the impedance of a volume pot full up on 10 ( the 500K res ) and your volume pot became a tone pot so if you have to play with your volume you can and if you wanna play with your tone to try some mellow part NOW YOU CAN TOO it's nice to notice that if you put volume to zero in this configuration an THEN you pull it out you have full volume with tone rolled down maybe this could be used for killswitch too! and if you like to play with components value you could refine this circuit to better suit your taste I.E. if you use a 1meg resistor instead a 500kohm when you engage the "tone mode" the pickups see an higher impedance thus giving a brighter sound and more range for tonal exloration! hope you like that! ![]()
