I run a .68 on my UV, less for tonal considerations than because I hit pretty hard and don't want a string that'll oscilate like crazy whenever I pick.

Of course, whether a pickup can give you a "tight" tone will really depend with what you run it into, but my experience is that while there's certainly a lot of bass coming out of a Blaze bridge, the midrange is clear enough that it's certainly capable of getting a nice, tight rhythm tone, and isn't naturally "muddy" sounding. Certianly it's worth experimenting with different guages and string types, but I agree that running it through something other than a Zoom 505II is probably going to help a lot.

Right now i think its a .054 or .056 on my UV, but im gonna bump it up in a serious way when i change strings. That said, i dont have any clarity problems at all. I'm using a 5150 though.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

Most likely picking up a studio used cube 30W for $150 - sound like a good deal? Its from a guy who I bought my RG7421 (my first ibby) so I trust him with the quality - just wanted to know the price.

My setup is very similar. I use Dean Markley .10-.60's on my K7 and have a Blaze in the bridge. I'm also using a 6505 with a Lordovchaos modded TS7 and I couldn't ask for a better tone. I'm using A standard and every string sounds nice and tight. So far the Blaze bridge is my favorite pickup.

Ah, the suffering. The sweet suffering.

I think i will try detuning again - When I orginally got my rg7421 I went to A Standard.

I'm not liking my Blaze Bridge much right now. I've tried it through a lot of amps lately and found the sound "wanting". It's got to be the pickup, not the amps. It's too mid-scooped and muddy for my taste.

Yeah - will try the blaze bridge with a cube 30W that im going to be getting. If it doesnt rock my socks with the crispness and tightness then I will adjust heights and guages till I get the tone I want.

Worst case nothing works for mme - I sell the green blaze and get a green evo.
