The Blaze Custom isn't suited for anything IMO. I think it's unarticulate, honky and bland in any configuration. I had them in alder/ebony board 7s and they sounded HORRIBLE. The best pickup IMO for that configuration is a Duncan Custom, JB or Invader. For a DiMarzio, I don't really know. IMO DiMarzios work best in basswood or mahogany setups due to their bright character. That said I've never tried a D Activator so its possible thta could work. If you want badass midrange but still great all around and not nasally and harsh, try the Duncan Custom.

With the D'activator i could see it haveing claity on the low B but i don't want an unpleasant brightness and "brittle" sounding high strings and thats where i am not sure what to go with here. Also i will be using it on both rythym and leads. So yeah definatly give me your input when you get the custom installed and try it out. Thanks.
the words "unpleasant" and "brittle" do not apply to the D Activators.
