Somebody help me NOT sell my guitar!!
If I can't fix this god damn feedback problem, I'm going to have to sell my Rhino Linered ESP LTD MF-207.
I've rewired it 2x now.Bought a new volume pot and used different wires. The only thing that didn't changed was the pickups. Same problem. So I rewired the whole thing for active EMGs (707/81-7), using a 25k EMG pot, new output jack for the battery, and the same problem existed. Rewired it again with the EMG-HZs. Same bullshit. So I bought all new wire, pot, toggle switch, jack. This time I lined the pickup pockets and the electronics cavity with copper shielding tape (even the output jack cavity). But this time I forgot to raise the pickups close to the strings, and it didn't chirp at me. So I adjusted the height to where I thought I had the problem nipped. Took it to the gig last night, got on stage and tested it out before our show started. SQUEEEL!!! So I had a screwdriver on stage with me, backed off the pickups a little more (1/2 turn of the screws), and still SQUEEL!! I don't know where to go from here. I've got a set of DiMarzio "New-7" pickups I took out of my RG7621 that I'm tempted to try. But I've got no other idea what else to try. I guess the rubber coating was a bad idea afterall. The guitar works fine, but with my particular high-gain settings, it just doesn't cut it for some damn reason. So if I can't get this thing fixed, it's getting sold, which I really don't wanna do cuz it's too fucking cool. ![]() SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!! I'LL FOREVER BE IN YOUR DEBT!!!! ![]() ![]() Metal... i'm assuming that you do not have your gain and/or treble turned all the way up, correct?

Yeah, that's what I'm starting to think. But I just don't understand how it could be causing this issue? I'm hoping there's some way to resolve this.
Actually, yes I do. But I have an RG7420 that has zero feedback problems. So it's not that my rig is fucked up, but rather there's something with this guitar that doesn't agree with my rig. |

I don't know if I could say that.
And to clarify, the guitar originally had EMG-HZ 707A, which is a passive pickup. I tried a set of 707/81-7 actives in the guitar, didn't help, went back to the passives. |

I find it hard to belive that the Rhino Liner would cause the squeal. Maybe I missed something but, did it squeal before that? Maybe it's just the guitar itself.
Have you tried making a patch on your Triaxis with less gain? Maybe that's just it. Maybe if you want to use that guitar you have to design a patch specifically for it. Just a thought. |

I don't think the Rhino Liner should cause this either. I can't imagine the physics behind it that 'would' cause it.
No, the guitar didn't have feedback problems before. Not anything like it is now. As for adjusting the TriAxis... it works fine with my RG7, so if I can't get the LTD to work, there's no point in changing the amp, when the guitar is the problem. Looking cool is one thing, but the guitar has to play great first and foremost. |
