The great pickup swap around

So after recieving the last of the new pups today, tonight will see my pickup switch-a-roo complete for my 6ers.

The LACS:
out: tone zone (bridge)
in: x2n (bridge)
result: made the guitar sound that bit more aggressive, x2n works well with the ash so far, really even and hot Much more tonal variety between pickup positions

The rg550:
out: x2n(bridge)
in: EMG81 (bridge), EMG85 neck
result: First foray back into EMG territory for about 6-7 years or so.
So far am digging it again, really have always like the sound of the 85 in the neck for leads. 81 is allright, quite like it still, but I haven't really played it that much as I only completed it yesterday. Also replaced the tone knob with a 3 way gibson style switch, which is fun to have as I didn't get an SA in the end. May want an 89 for the neck just to add a few more options, but so far all is cool

The Jem BSB:
out: evo bridge,single and neck
in: breed(neck),blue velvet(middle),fred(bridge)
result: as yet unknown, but I don't like the 6 string evo, so it should be an improvement! Also rigging it up with a push pull pot, and a nice dimarzio 5 way switch which looks like it's from space! Not sure on the wiring yewt either, but I am hoping it'll "unstiffen" and fill up the sound of this guitar a bit

So yes, all change and fun fun fun!

Cool. You might find the 81 a bit thin and boring, I certainly did. The 85 sounds a lot fatter at the bridge and would pair well with an 89 neck.

You liked the Fred in my frankenstrat.

yep, but it's all dependant on the chunk of wood the guitar is made of. SO I'll see once it's wired up.
