![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | DiMarzio Evolution 7 anyone? i seem to ask alot about pickups... so, i´m gunna buy a new pickup for my 7 string... and i want something nice and articulate... i didn´t even consider the evolution 7 pickup, as it was designed to be a soloist´s pickup, and that´s not what i´m looking for... BUT, it´s got lots of highs and high mids, and just today, i noticed how whenever i play with my 7 string, i boost the high-mids and treble pre-distortion with the eq to get the sound that i want, and i thought hey, why not get a pickup that has lots of highs and mid highs? :P so yeah... who has any experience with this, and how does it work for rhythm stuff? how does it sound when playing power chords etc, and how is the low end on these things? -------------------------------------- Æn Æppl Æ Dæi, Kiips De Dåktor Awæi |

![]() | I second that! Just get it! I replaced a Blaze(crap) in the bridge with an Evo7 and it beat that thing down like it was an emo kid! Tight tone all over the board and if you are worth a shit at pinch harmonics you can pull one anywhere on the neck with this pickup! Buy it!!! ![]() |

![]() | The Evo is a great pickup. I myself use emg 707's, but my little brother uses evo 7's, we both use 7620's tuned to A. The Evo has a decent amount of body, nice and full sounding.... yet it's not muddy nor undefined. It's bleeding mid's and clarity al over your soundspectrum. It's thight and articulate as hell and pretty hot (not quite as hot as the 707 though). It was exactly what he was looking for: tone (man it got LOADS of tone), articulation, mid's, it really bites and growl's agressively... it got this mean character to it! I can HIGHLY suggest it. Kop-ik-win, munt-jij-verliest. |
