if you have an original death metal pedal (FX86) that has the blood splatter paint and the spidery writing, be careful about what power supply you order from Musician's Friend. they have the ones for the new Digitech brand of Death Metal Pedal. i just went and bought a PS from a local store and it was WAY WAY cheaper than the one i just got. now, i have to return it to MF to get an exchange or my money back. the plug on the new ones is like a female connector instead of the mini-plug that looks like a guitar cable plug. thought i would pass on my experiences for the day.

there are 3 versions of this pedal. the original (the one I have), the plain colored one (purple and silver I think) with block lettering (2nd version), and the new Digitech brand that is all black. DOD is owned by Digitech and also owns Harmon Product Group.

i hate that shit, different connectors, i just got my wife a dvd-r then realized we had to get different connectors to make it work, we couldnt find them anywhere, finaly returned it and got a different one, all connectors should be standard, just a ploy from big business to get you to spend more money, even after you shelled out the dough for it, just to make 2 wires you already own touch, its bullshit, but atleast you got it sorted out man

I miss my own FX86. I modded it and then it got nicked, and the new Digitech is totally shit.

I have a FX86B and it needs the female plug thing. There maybe more than 3 versions it seems. I love mine with the trebble all the way down, sound killer on a tube amp, even a Fender

MXR was the big dog. DOD split from MXR. DOD changed to Digitech for whatever reason.
