Help with duncans
so, i'm thinking of putting a seymour duncan custom custom (bridge) and alnico pro II (neck) im my '05 gibson les paul custom... anyone have any experience with this combo? they would be replacing a 498T and 490R which i do like the overall tone of but i still find them a little lacking.
i had a duncan custom (bridge) and '59 (neck) in this guitar for a short time and HATED both of them in this particular guitar . so don't recommend those to me . thanks for any help you can give me. |

I play my friends Godin which has a Custom Custom pretty often and I'm not much a fan of the tone.... Really bright and dosen't have a great palm mute sound to it... It's very articulate though...
Up the shut fuck, you must.

I didn't like the CC much - it's all mid with nothing else, IMO. However, I could see it making a Paul "cut" very well...

The Custom Custom is one of those piece of gear people other love or hate. What little I've meesed with one I'm not crazy about it. Like eaeolian said it is very mid focused.

thanks for the feedback guys... i think i'm sold! most of the things you seem to dislike about the CC are what i'm looking for
. i really only use this guitar for soloing and a warm, mid-heavy, articulate pickup is exactly what i want. |
