Dimarzio experts
Hey.. So theres another thread here that someone had a PAF Pro for sale.. I noticed on the back, Thats exactly what it says on my White pickups in my RG570 thats for sale..
Heres pics of his, as I dont have any pics of the back of mine http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/gear-for-sale-trade-wanted/25129-wtb-cheap-ish-6-string-pickups.html Any clarification on these pickups?? I would like to know more about them so maybe I can instead of saying "selling random dimarzio pickups, no model" say they are actually worth more than 50 cents? lol |

The PAF Pro® was created when chops-intensive playing was first starting to happen, and high-gain amps and rack systems were getting popular. A pickup was needed that combined a lot of presence and "cut" with an open-sounding PAF® vibe. The transparency of its sound lets the PAF Pro® slice through heavy processing, where darker-sounding pickups get lost in the mud of the effects chain. Low notes have both snap and chunk, and there is a spike in the mid-range that gives the pickup a subtle "aw" vowel sound, like a wah-wah pedal stopped in the middle. Treble response is tweaked, so high notes stand out without getting brittle. The PAF Pro® makes an outstanding neck pickup in almost any guitar, and it's an exceptional bridge pickup when high output isn't required.
Recommended For: The PAF Pro® is a dependable choice right across the board - neck and bridge positions, solid-body, semi-hollow and hollow body guitars are equally effective uses. Tech Talk: This is a great building block pickup, because it's effective in many different situations. Try it in the neck position with a hotter bridge pickup - anything from a Norton® to a Super Distortion® will create a calibrated two-humbucker match. As a bridge pickup, it's really effective with single-coils, because it won't drown them out with too much power, and it's bright enough to blend in tone-wise. Try dimarzio's website next time... |

Actually Dan, I think he meant physical traits that can distinguish the different models.

America needs to spend more money on teaching kids how to read. |

No need to be a dick... he just gave you what he could find on the website
Unlike the previously unknown SD i pulled out of one of my guitars, that pickup doesnt have a nifty sticker to ID it. However, it does have the cosmetic aspects of a PAF Pro... perhaps you can measure the DC Resistance and match it to the catalogue? |

You didn't say is there anything cosmetic wise, just asked about it so I thought you were asking for specs of the pickup. You seriously didn't need to throw in a negative comment about America. I misread your post big deal dude. By the way some FYI, I'm not a kid like you.

like Ken says. And they used to have a little white sticker on the metal bases that had that code on it.

I would like to know too, as it is my pickup
![]() But yeah, the previous owner said that he 'thinks' it is a PAF pro. I looked at the pics on dimarzio's site and it really resembles it the most out of any pickup. |

They used to engrave the DP number in the bottom also. I would get a multimeter and test the coils resistance and match that number against those listed on Dimarzio's site. They won't be exactly the same, but close enough that you should be able to tell.
