Question on an Ibanez 7 pickup
Does anyone know what the pickups are in the S series Ibanez's? I had 2 of the blue ones (I think the guy in Unearth has one) that I liked the pickups, but I got rid of the guitars because the necks were too thin.

Were they Dimarzio's?

Any help is cool, THANKS !

More than likely, they were Dimarzio's. It's the only company that offers cool colors from the factory. Of course, you can also get bobbin toppers to do the same effect. Now as far as what model, there's not really any way to know that.

If you're referring to the stock pickups, the S7420 has Ibanez V7-7 and v8-7 pickups.

You liked the stock pickups? You should try some nicer pickups, I imagine you'd be blown away.

If you want some let me know, I've got DiMarzios in my S7420BP and will be swapping the stock pups out of my S7420FMTT shortly, so I'll have two sets sitting around.

Yea I actually liked them pretty well, but I am in search mode for some options other than the 707s my guitars have.
