7621 Graphite nut

So I ordered a graphite nut for my 7621 from guitarpartsdepot.com. I was wondering how to go about changing it. My budy tells me just heat it till I can pry it off, clean the area up, and glue the new one on. I have never tried this before, and I just want to make sure I don't fuck anything up. Anyone with any expierence would be a lot of help. Also, can I expect a big improvement in tone, tuning stability, etc.?

take a little piece of wood and put it on the fingerboard touching the nut, and tap it lightly with a hammer and it should pop right off. then just clean up the area and glue the new one on....it just takes a small dab of glue, and even something like elmer's school glue would work.

I have no idea if this is accurate data, but this site states that the nut on the RG7621 is already graphite...

Scroll down to the "Parts:" section...

I don't think so, it looks and feels pretty plastic. I think that is just a mis-print.

It's a mis-print. All production fixed bridge RG7's so far have had plastic nuts.

It was the one at the very top. It came today and was very easy to replace.
