It's on in many coats...At this point at least 6 or 7 on the tuners. I'm not really worried about the paint flaking on the trem as it is black under the black paint. I was just giving it a fresh coat to go over the rust and wear the old paint has worn through the years.

I put clear over the chrome paint and it turned GRAY!! I have no idea why. I am sure it has something to do with how light hits it through the clear. So I have had to repaint the pick guard which means the paint is super thick on it now. No worries about scratches there. It sux because now I have to re do the vines. Oh well. I have better idea as to how to do them now so they will turn out better.

Nope...it is almost a smooth mirror after just spraying it on....Pretty cool. Cheaper and MUCH better than Testors or any other "metal" paint out there. Very Chrome like. I thought about the HOK chrome but holy fuck it is expensive.

The finish on the trem and tuners isn't normally paint though, its metal plating.
