Guess I'll give it a shot next string change. Now, do I use the silver-tick purple-logo one, and have to use purple pickups for all time, or use the plain silver/silver one?

If you sand the headstock though, would the rough finish make it harder for the logo to stick?

I'm personally not a fan of purple pickups/logo, so I would go with the silver.

I already have the purple in the guitar though, been there for ages... I had considered swapping the stuff for white(and getting a Super3 like my other RG), but I dunno. The purple is pretty '80's, but then so is the guitar.

I'm iffy on the sanding, mostly because I don't want to screw up my guitar. I might just stick the inlay over the top and leave it for a while(I have 3 of them). It's not like the original was cleared over.

Yea that's what I plan on doing with mine. So you say you got the old one off with lighter fluid? I may have to try that as I've had no success with tape so far...

If I was trying to take the logo off I'd hit it with lighter fluid then tape. Really, my logo was dying anyway, this just sped it up.

Tape and lighter fluid only work on 80's and early 90's necks with the logo over the clear coat. Newer guitars (like your RG7321) have the logo under the clear coat, so it has to be sanded off and then the headstock re-cleared.

My logo is actually over the clear, maybe this is only on low end models. My RG1570 has the logo under the clear.
